Managing the crisis
I seemed to just narrowly escaped all of the travel bans and massive lines getting back into the country this past Monday. Now, faced with a growing concern for the virus, I have canceled my 3 week photo trip to Ireland, a trip that I look forward to every year.
Instead, we now find ourselves staying home in Lubec Maine, watching spring begin to bloom. It is a time for all of us to be safe and responsible and avoid the crowds as much as possible. Perhaps the only silver lining right now is that winter seems to have left early, giving us an opportunity to walk the coastal trails and woods without snow and ice on the ground.
Using the peace and serenity found in these beautiful locations is one way to cope with the massive stress levels that we all feel. I hope that you have a place like this, where you can take this time to disconnect from the chaos and connect with the beauty and peace that is found in Mother Nature.
Walking the woods with one camera and lens, taking it all in, looking for patterns of texture and light has definitely helped to calm the overwhelming sense of angst that I feel. I would love to know what you might be doing to calm your thoughts while still feeding your creative soul?
